Today I am sharing a the best ideas for a baby nursery on a budget!
I personally love to design nursery’s because I know first hand how special of a place it is for both Baby and Mom!
My goal for this nursery was for the space to be cute, functional & affordable!
As soon as I found out I was having a boy, I immediately went to Pinterest, of course, for some inspiration!
Here is a little design board of my neutral baby nursery inspiration that I found while browsing Hobby Lobby..

Baby Nursery On A Budget
BUDGET Friendly baby Nursery Furniture
Knowing that I was planning to reuse the furniture from my daughter’s nursery.
I wanted to find something that would easily fit in with that style. I also like simple but functional.
baby nursery theme
I fell in love with the stars, moons and clouds nursery theme from both Pinterest and from shopping at Hobby Lobby.
It was the perfect gender neutral nursery theme. Hobby Lobby had so many cute and inexpensive pieces for me to make this room come together in a snap.
My husband on the other hand was complaining about how many things I had for him to hang on the wall!
The crib wall is sort of tucked in and fits perfectly on a wall adjacent to the closet.
I had heard not to put shelving and/or other heavy things over top of the crib (in case they fall) so I was super excited when I saw this perfect garland and lightweight framed art.
baby Nursery Textiles
The cute star patterned sheet is organic and very soft.
The curtains are room darkening curtains which are a MUST in the baby nursery so that they a. don’t wake up when the sun comes up and b. can take naps during the day.

Budget baby nursery gliders
Our glider is very comfortable and has a very functional ottoman complete with a pull out foot rest which is really comfortable for feeding and rocking your baby – I highly recommend it.
In this space I really needed an extra pop of blue to tie in with the curtains. In this shot you can also see the rug and star accent rugs which tie the room all together and make it feel extra cozy with the faux fur.
The lamp was a reuse from my daughter’s nursery but we used it literally every day!
We also installed a dimmer switch for another option of low lighting for baby!
The changing pad cover also brings another pop of blue – after all this is a baby BOY!
The super soft muslin fabric actually gets softer with every wash. I also have it in the matching crib sheet.
Above the changing table and on the adjacent wall to the right are many awesome finds from Hobby Lobby that fit absolutely perfectly with my theme!

budget Nursery Closet
Finally, the closet which I use all day every day – so functional!
First, off, I will say that this closet is designed exactly after my sister and besties baby nursery – check her out @The Greenspring Home and see how to build this yourself on her page.
Another project completed by my amazing and talented hubs.
Tons of hanging space and storage in the cubbies – I love love love to organize and be organized and this layout really maximizes the space in the closet.
What is that at the bottom right hand corner you ask? That my friends is a mini fridge!
Yes, my amazing and talented husband also installed an electrical outlet in the closet so that we could store all the baby bottles there!
And on top, we keep the bottle warmer.
It makes feedings very convenient and saves a ton of space in your actual fridge.
I love being able to shut the closet door though so that its not the center of attention when you walk into the nursery.
Speaking of opening and closing doors, one KEY item for a nursery is called a door jam latch cover.
Brilliant! Now you can sneak in and out of baby’s room without making a peep!
Baby Nursery Functionality
Once baby arrives, they tend to be a little intimidated by the new world and decide they don’t want to sleep in the beautiful nursery Mommy designed for them!
If you are interested, I have some amazing advice I can share on getting your baby to sleep through the night!

I can’t say enough how much I’ve loved spending so much time in this space.
How did by baby boy just turn one?
Planning a nursery can be fun but also overwhelming.
My recommendation is to pick a theme that you like and then go on google and pick items from different places to incorporate and bring it all together.
You will want to get it all in the space and play with everything to see what works and what doesn’t – you many have to take a few things back so check the return policy!
