Today’s mudrooms aren’t just a place you walk through. They are usable, functional & a place you decorate like any other room in your home.
When we were designing our mudroom, we considered both hardwood and tile flooring options.
Hardwood is nice for a seamless transition from room to room.
We had a hardwood entryway flooring in our prior home and the biggest issue was the salt from the snow during the Winter. Other items tracked inside as well like small rocks and mud which made it a little bit harder to keep clean even with an entryway rug.
Tile is a much more durable Mudroom flooring option. I’m all about the functional and knew that realistically my Mudroom was going to see a lot of foot traffic and that tile was going to stay nicer longer term.
I absolutely love tile in a mudroom and highly recommend it!

Grahpite Matte Porcelain tile
First up, our very own Mudroom tile flooring! We have had this tile for over 3 years and I may be partial be this is the best mudroom floor tile in my opinion!
Some features of this Mudroom tile option are that it is both budget friendly and hides all the dirt!
This tile also features a smooth, low sheen finish and is made with color body technology.
It also has sort of a concrete look which I am loving in our home!
Now, I would not lie to you. My tile contractor warned me about using a light color grout in our Mudroom.
We decided to go with a lighter Mudroom grout that does require some cleaning upkeep but it’s not terrible in my opinion.
You could always decide to go with a darker tile grout. See picture of what it looks like with darker grout below.
Bonus! This tile also comes in 7 other colors and 3 total sizes!
