Whether you’re just looking to better organize your existing space or you’re building a new kitchen, organization is key to enjoying your time spent there. I’ve geared these kitchen organization tips towards any kitchen – big, small, new, or older!
Small Kitchen Appliance Storage
Our Appliance Garage
When I was first exploring ideas for kitchen organization for our home, I knew that kitchen appliance storage was going to be really important. And I love the solution we came up with that keeps our appliances nearby but not sitting all over our kitchen counters.
If you have any type of closet or hutch nearby to your kitchen, I would highly recommend storing all your small appliances there – it’s one of my favorite kitchen organization hacks! Hopefully you don’t have as many as I do, but putting them all in a central location not only makes them easy to locate, but also opens up valuable space in your cabinets!
Ideas for Kitchen Organization: Spices
Spices are one of the biggest kitchen organization challenges! Some you use daily, some you use once a year. You want them near your cooking space, but also kept organized and preferably hidden out of plain view.
Luckily, I’ve got some great ideas for kitchen organization – and some awesome kitchen organization products – that will keep your spices in perfect order!
- Alphabetize – no matter where you store your spices, take the time to alphabetize! It saves so much time when you are making a recipe with a lot of different spices! Others will be impressed to that you can find the rosemary or coriander so quickly! Speaking of recipes, I have been adding all of my go to recipes on Pinterest – if you are looking for meal ideas, you will want to head over and follow along.
- Sliding Shelf Spice Rack – my kitchen was designed to have this shelf in it and I now would never be able to live with out it. It is right next to my cooktop and super convenient while cooking! But if you are like most and aren’t renovating or building a new kitchen, organization options for spices are still out there! Here a few of my favorite kitchen organization products for spice storage:

Kitchen Organization – Cabinet Plate Storage
When it comes to kitchen organization, cabinets need a little extra TLC. They can so easily get crowded and cluttered! These plate organizers are some of the best kitchen organization products out there.
There is nothing wrong with stacked plates, of course, but I love these plate organizers!! They really make the cabinets look and feel extra organized! It also makes it easier to quickly grab one. These are really inexpensive and a great way to store your plates.
Ideas for Kitchen Organization – Utensils
If you’re on a mission to master kitchen organization, utensils are probably near the top of your must-organize list. A silverware organizer is a staple in any kitchen but I do love and recommend my bamboo organizer!
Some like to display their knives in a butcher block on the counter which also serves as a décor item! Others like to store their cutlery out of sight in a drawer. I’m one to keep it out of sight. Similarly, I like to keep my kitchen gadgets out of sight too. I like for everything to have a place so I know where it is!
Below are a few of my favorite kitchen organization products for your drawers – everything from trimmable to expandable!
Vertical Skinny Cabinet Kitchen Organization Ideas
My kitchen was designed to have a tall, vertical cabinet like this and I absolutely love it. On one side I keep my cutting boards and on the other, my sheet pans. Storing these this way is not only a huge space saver but it just makes these really easy to get to. In my prior kitchen, I had the sheet pans all smashed up under the kitchen sink on the side of the cabinet and cutting boards in a drawer under my Ziploc bags.
But if you’re not building a new kitchen, organization space like this is still possible! You can very easily add a divider to a standard cabinet and have this space too! One of the best places is probably the cabinet under the kitchen sink! Just create a divider – or two – with a piece of wood!
Food Storage Container Organization
The dreaded tupperware organization…You’ve lost the top, you open the cabinet and everything comes spilling out, everything is mismatched – yeah, we’ve all been there. Figuring out how to store tupperware are some of the most sought-after ideas for kitchen organization.
But this year for Christmas, my husband got me these really cool pegboard kitchen organization features for our drawers! These peg boards are trimmable for an exact fit. You can also add these in a slide out cabinet.
If you don’t have a drawer or a slide out cabinet, there are other options too! I love anything that is adjustable/expandable so these kitchen organization bins are absolutely perfect for Tupperware storage in any kitchen! When organizing, I just love the words adjustable, expandable, retractable and collapsible!
Kitchen Organization for Pots and Pans
Another kitchen staple that you need well organized? Those essential pots & pans. Also for Christmas, similar to the Tupperware organization, my husband got me these pots & pans peg drawer organizer accessories. It is what pots & pans organization dreams are made of! It makes it so easy to grab and find the right pan and/or lid! I highly recommend this if you have large drawers or drawer pull outs and are looking for new ideas for kitchen organization!
We used the peg board from above & add the items below:
Here are two other options that will work in any cabinet! Rev A Shelf has so many options and sizes!
Ideas for Kitchen Organization – Trash & Recycling
Last but not least, a place for trash and recycle. I have mine right next to my sink which is perfect! I have two cans and I buy blue recycle bags so guests can easily tell which is which. Rev A Shelf makes a slider that you can add to any kitchen cabinet. This is one of my favorite features of my kitchen for sure!
